These reflections and insights are the connections I have made since the beginning of May 2008 in EDUC 463.
At the beginning of May 2008 I came to this course with a thin perception of the utility of multimedia in education. Since then I understand that there is a place and time to use technology and multimedia as a teaching tool. Multimedia and technology should not ever replace the teacher. Even the distance between student and teacher connected by technology is not near as effective as face to face interactions. Reciprocity is another key feature to the connections that technology can create. But it is important to remember that the technology is only a tool. It is the teacher who wields the tools and provides learning opportunities with the tools for students. In the time where students are more savvy with technology than teacher it is up to the teacher to keep current and aware of the new developments.
Enjoy your stay. I did!
